KEEPING WATER CLEAN & SAFE

IT IS EVERYONE'S JOB TO PROTECT WATER FROM UNNECESSARY POLLUTION

WATER CONSERVATION TIPS

1. When brushing your teeth, do not let the water run.
2. Check the cycle of your water softener
3. Check every faucet in your home for leaks
4. A leaky toilet can waste 200 gallons per day.
5. A faucet in your home with a slow drip can waste about 15 to 20 gallons per day.
6. Any small leak ( 1/32 of an inch) can waste 170 gallons of water in a 24 hour period.

There are a couple of different things you can do to check for leaks. One is to read your water meter before going to bed or work, then read it again when you get up or come home. As long as you know nobody has used water or your water softener didn't go through its cycle, the meter dials won't move. One way to check your toilets for leaks is to add food coloring to the tank water. If the colored water appears in the bowl, the toilet is leaking.
