Full-time Employees:

The City of Onalaska's insurance benefit program is subject to the limitations, benefits and conditions established by the Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds.

As a member of the Employee Trust Fund, the City of Onalaska participates in the Wisconsin Retirement System and pays 100% of the employer and employee share of the retirement.

Health insurance is available via two local providers or a statewide provider. Employees pay 20% of the total premium. Dental insurance is paid 100% by the City.

Life insurance is available to employees in varying amounts with the City paying an administrative portion of the premium.

Employees are also eligible to participate in the IRS Section 125 Cafeteria Plan including health care and dependent care reimbursement, and pre-tax deduction of health insurance premiums.

Employees of the City are also eligible to become a member of optional Deferred Compensation Programs. These are pre-tax earnings programs to set aside earnings for the future.

Seasonal/Part-time employees working over 600 hours in a twelve-month period:

The City of Onalaska has established an insurance benefit program that is subject to the limitations, benefits and conditions established by the Wisconsin Department of Employee Trust Funds. Included in this voluntary program are health insurance, life insurance, and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System.

Seasonal Employees not exceeding 600 hours in a twelve-month period are not eligible for benefits.
