SIDEWALK MAINTENANCE (SNOW/ICE)

Per City Ordinances it is the property owners responsibility to keep sidewalks cleared of snow and ice. Please review below:

 

City Ordinance Sec. 6-2-8(a) states "The owner, occupant or person  in charge of any parcel or lot which fronts upon or abuts any sidewalk shall keep said sidewalk clear of all snow and ice. Said sidewalk shall be cleared of all accumulated snow and/or ice within 24 hours after the snow ceases to fall. Sidewalks are to be kept clear of snow and ice to the width of the sidewalk. In the event that ice has formed on any sidewalk in such a manner that it cannot be removed, the owner, occupant or person in charge of the parcel or lot shall keep the sidewalk sprinkled with material to accelerate melting or prevent slipping."

 

Failure to perform the maintenance on the sidewalks as listed above may result in the City performing the task. The charge for said service shall be a minimum of $75 dollars per front or side. Additionally an administrative fee of $40 per parcel shall be charged for processing. We appreciate your cooperation!
